Northern Europe, Climate Leader

Northern Europe continues to show the way. After almost all of Denmark’s parties last week settled on an energy agreement to turn the country’s ambitious targets into reality, Scotland is now boasting new record figures on renewables. The latest quarterly figures are 50% over the 2010 total (!) and Scotland seems well on track to its target to have 100% renewable power by 2020.

Energy efficiency continues to lag, though, as almost everywhere (though the new Danish agreement is also a landmark in this respect).
